crgcChicago Regional Growth Corporation

New forum launches to help coordinate the region's
economic priorities

The Chicago Regional Growth Corporation (CRGC) launched last Thursday, providing metropolitan Chicago with a needed forum to set economic priorities and help generate regional growth and prosperity.

CRGC is the regional economic development organization that drives collaboration among public and private partners in order to generate inclusive growth and prosperity across northeastern Illinois. Through CRGC's leadership, the region will speak and act with one voice.

CRGC is comprised of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will Counties and the City of Chicago. The region is one of the world's top ten most competitive economies, at the center of global trade routes with major assets in transportation infrastructure, information technology, manufacturing and more.

Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen represented the seven county leaders when he spoke during the press conference announcement last Thursday at mHUB Chicago, the city's first innovation center focused on physical product development and manufacturing.

"One big gap for Kane County, our communities and the region is the absence of regional marketing and promotion of the many assets that might be located in one county, but benefit all," Lauzen said. "We believe that all 275 municipalities in our counties will benefit by being able to be found in the regional context that CRGC will provide."
